Ryanair sues 'wildcat' Carcassonne strikers

6th May 2008

Ryanair is seeking damages as a result of unlawful ‘wildcat’ strikes by CGT union members employed at check-in, security and refuelling which closed Carcassonne Airport without warning for three days from 25th - 27th May 2008 and disrupted the travel plans of 4,000 Ryanair passengers.

Ryanair will donate any damages it receives from the legal proceedings against French trade union, Confederation General de Travail (CGT), which begins May 6th in Carcassonne District Court, directly to La Ligue contre le Cancer which works to prevent and educate people in relation to cancer in Carcassonne and nationally.
