Every year, in April, the Jean Vigo Film Institute organises the film festival Confrontation, a major film festival in Europe focussing on the relations between history and cinema.
This year the theme is a celebration of the greats of the American film industry.

Port Leucate is a small port located in the South West of France in the Langedoc-Rousillon Region, halfway between Perpignan and Narbonne. The race will start from the Cave Coopérative in Leucate Village, passing the Centre Ostréicole de la commune and finishing at the Avenue de Septimanie in Port Leucate. The record is held by Tony Martins, champion de France in the 10 km in 1999, who ran the 10km in 28m44sec. The female record is held by Carmen Oliveras at 33m38sec. Last Ski Shuttle of the season from Perpignan to Les Angles/Font Romeu/P2000

The last ski shuttle between Perpignan Train Station and the Pyrenees Ski Resorts of Les Angles/Font Romeu/P2000 is running tomorrow, Saturday 21st March 2009.

The bus leaves from Perpignan train station (pick up outside Hotel Paris - Barcelone) at 7am and returns from Les Angles at 5pm.

St Patricks day is not widely celebrated in French Catalonia however the capital of Catalonia, Barcelona, has a ten day Irish festival called EL FEILE. In 2009 EL FEILE, celebrates its 6th edition presenting a cultural ‘pica pica’ that includes music, dance, Gaelic Games, comedy, and cinema amongst other activities.

Kings of the Dance in Perpignan

Kings of the Dance tells the story of the USA from 1607 to 2004 via a medley of cult films and musicals (West Side Story, New York New York, Hair, Fame, Jailhouse Rock, Staying Alive, Gone with the Wind, Singin’ in the Rain, Chicago.....) and a variety of different styles of dance (tap, Irish, country, french cancan, boogie woogie, waltz, jazz, tango, charleston, lindy hop....) with 80 dancers in front of a giant screen.

Ryanair moving to 100% Web Check-In From October 2009

Ryanair today (10th March 2009) announced it will move to 100% web check-in from 1st October 2009. This move will allow all passengers, including those travelling with checked baggage, to check-in online. Ryanair’s web check-in service is currently used by up to 75% of all passengers.

Having printed their boarding cards at home, passengers without check-in bags can continue to proceed directly through airport security while those with check-in bags can simply present at one of Ryanair’s “drop desks” before proceeding through airport security to the boarding gate.

The Bus Ticket Sales office has moved to the Bus Park at Girona airport. Turn right towards the Bus Park when you leave the arrivals hall. The Bus Ticket office is directly across from the end of the terminal building.
