This weekend the Spanish Open tournament is being played at the stunning PGA Cataluyna golf course, situated close to Girona airport.

A host of top Spanish players will be joined by a high quality field that includes defending champion Peter Lawrie, European Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie, two-time Major Champion John Daly, former Open Champion Paul Lawrie and Volvo Masters champion Søren Kjeldsen.

Cantona's V Lievremont's at Argeles sur Mer!

Two famous French sporting families from Soccer and Rugby have come together to stage a match combining both sports to raise funds for the Polyhandicap association.

The first half of the match will be soccer, the second half will be rugby and current and former French internationals have been recruited by both sides to compete in what promises to be exciting encounter.

The « Goig dels ous de xocolat » sees musicans « Els Ministrils del Rosselló » parade through the streets with the ’geganters de Villefranche’ playing Catalan musical intruments (gralles, flaviol and tambourin) and asking for chocolate eggs from the inhabitants of the town in exchange for their music. A few days before the event, lists of music to be played will be posted into everyone’s letter box. Baskets of eggs on ropes lowered out of first floor windows are particularly appreciated! The procession of the giants or ’gégants’ through the streets of Villefranche is not to be missed.

Enfants de la mer - Argeles sur Mer

A free outdoor photography exhibit has been installed on the promenade of Argeles Plage featuring stunning images from the Animal world side by side with grim statistical information on what we have done to the planet. The 92 photographs and 64 texts are the creation of GoodPlanet, an association founded by photographer and passionate ecologist, Yann Arthus-Bertrand of “Earth from Above” fame. The aim of the project is to raise awareness that “each one of us is personally responsible for the future of the planet".
