Sud de France - the umbrella brand created by the southern French region of Languedoc-Roussillon to promote the area’s food and wine exports – will be undertaking a major worldwide trade and consumer promotion this autumn

The Sud de France Festival will take place in six countries - the UK, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, the US and China - presenting Sud de France wine and food products in eight cities. This ten-day trade and consumer event promoting Languedoc-Roussillon’s top quality wines and foods will be held in the following locations:

London (September 4-13)
Mexico City (October 9-25)
Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paolo and Belo Horizonte (October 1-12)
New York (October 2-12)
Shanghai (October 12-25)
Milan (October 26 – November 1)

Eco Music project in Perpignan

Friday 4th and Saturday 5th September 2009 at 20h00 each evening

Staged at La Casa Musicale Perpignan (map here) these concerts are being held by 'Le Project Triunfo' to raise money for an ecological project in the village of Garifuna in Honduras.

New Edinburgh route for Girona airport

Ryanair have announced that it will operate eight new routes from Edinburgh over the winter including a new service to Barcelona (Girona).

This new Girona airport to Edinburgh route will start on the 3rd of November. Ryanair have celebrated these new routes and increased winter traffic by releasing 1million €4 seats, for travel across its European network in late Sept, Oct and Nov, which are available for booking on Ryanair.com before midnight Sunday 23rd August.

Rugby Special : Munster Vs Montpellier

Ladies Irish Rugby Champions, Munster, take on French Champions Montpellier on Saturday 29th August in Villelongue de la Salanque (10 mins from Perpignan).

The Munster 'B' Team play Villelongue the evening before (on Friday 28th) at Villelongue de la Salanque.

Kick off both nights is at 19.30 and there will be plenty to see at the grounds, with the Harley Davidson Club coming along to show off their magnificent super bikes. The entrance fee is €5 and snacks & a bar will also be available.

Girona airport to Perpignan bus timetable extended

FROGBUS.com is pleased to announce that bookings can now be made online for the Girona airport to Perpignan bus service up to 31st January 2010.

PLEASE NOTE : The 17.15 departure from Perpignan will have a new departure time of 17.45 with effect from September 4th 2009. This service will call at Le Boulou peage parking area (exit 43 on the A9) at approximately 18.05 and arrive at Girona airport at 19.10.

Festival Pablo Casals in the Pyrénées-Orientales

Now in its 58th year, the Pablo Casals festival is one of the most respected chamber music festivals in France and, indeed, in Europe.

Started in 1950 in Prades, Pablo Casal’s, adopted town, the festival continues to present an inspiring series of concerts played by some of the greatest musicians of our day. This year, there will be evenings devoted to organ music, Mozart’s clarinet concertos, orchestral works for children and Czech music.

Collioure - Féria, 2009

Friday 14th – Tuesday 18th August 2009

This festival was first celebrated in the year 1701, on the day when the relics of St. Vincent, the patron saint of Collioure, were returned to the village.

New Canary Island routes at Girona airport

In a major expansion of flights to/from the Canary Islands, Ryanair have announced 3 new routes connecting Girona airport with Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife.

These new routes will start in October 2009 and Ryanair have released 20,000 fare free* seats for travel to/from the Canary Islands from 26th October until 19th December which are available for booking on www.ryanair.com until midnight Wednesday 5th August.
