Barcelona International buskers festival !

4th August - 7h August 2011

The Barceloneta district (map here) hosts the Barcelona International buskers festival next week. This year, more than 250 musicians from all over the world are scheduled to take part.

Their performances will be held at the marquees on the Passeig Marítim, the Passeig de Joan de Borbó, the Plaça del Mar & the Plaça de la Barceloneta. Click here for the festival website.

Free music concerts in Perpignan this week !

26th & 27th of July 2011 at 21:00

The region of Languedoc Roussillon in partnership with Radio de France are staging a series of free music concerts across the region this summer.

The concerts come to the Palais des Rois de Majorca (map here) in Perpignan this week featuring Laura Lopez Castro, Band of Gypsies and the Creole Choir of Cuba.

Free theatre in Girona city !

Girona municipal theatre is offering a series of free open air shows during the last week of July titled "EscèNit" (Farce).

For children there is "EscèNit Petits" featuring circus and puppet shows !

Festival Jardins de Cap Roig - Costa Brava

15th July - 21st August 2011

Rated as one of the top 10 festivals in Europe, the festival Jardins de Cap Roig boasts 22 concerts in July and August with some of the biggest names in the music business.

This year Sting, BB King and Tom Jones are among the acts performing. The Jardins de Cap Roig are situated on the Costa Brava coast around 1 hour from Girona city.

La Fête de la Bastille or Fête Nationale marks the storming of the Bastille prison in 1789 and the beginning of the French Revolution.

Fireworks, festivals, parties and lots of celebrating mark the event every year throughout France.

Grec Festival Barcelona 2011

June 17th — July 31st 2011

First held in 1976, the "Grec" is now one of Barcelona's major annual festivals, with events including music, theatre, dance and circus held at various venues across the city for a 6 week period from mid June to the end of July.
